Hello ladies and gentleman. Since the Caribbean has its kid friendly pool shut down in June 08, are we allowed to swim at another pool? We love to spend time at the pool. What do we do now?

The Caribbean Beach Resort’s main pool at Old Port Royale will be under refurbishment until the middle of September. During this time, guests may use the six quiet pools that are scattered throughout the resort. At the Barbados and Jamaica village pools, temporary slides have been installed. They are small and nothing fancy though.

Since you are traveling in June and value your pool-time, I would recommend switching to another moderate resort such as Coronado Springs. Younger kids would enjoy the pool at Port Orleans French Quarter. Older children would have a good time at the Coronado Springs and Port Orleans Riverside pools.

While it is disappointing that your first choice moderate resort is unable to grant all your wishes, I would avoid any further disappointment and consider a switch to another resort. If your traveling party consisted of only adults, then I would just utilize the quiet pools. They are beautifully situated throughout the villages. However, I have to share that the construction does detract from the overall beauty of the resort.

To better help with your decision, see photos of the construction by going to google and searching “Caribbean beach resort construction photos”. The first hit should be for photos at disboards.com. You’ll see a list of updated photos. Follow any of these links for a visual tour of the construction.

I wish you well with your June vacation.
