Hi there, Shanika, and thanks so much for bringing your question to me here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I’d love to help you plan for your upcoming getaway to the
Happiest Place on Earth… it’ll be here before you know it!
First off, I’m happy to report that the Disneyland Resort does a great job of making sure all Guests feel comfortable, including
Guests with disabilities. If your daughter could use special assistance, I recommend stopping by
Guest Relations upon arrival in Disneyland Park (at City Hall) or Disney California Adventure Park (at Chamber of Commerce). There, you can chat with a Cast Member to find a solution that will help make her Disney day more manageable. You won't need to provide paperwork, unless you’d feel more comfortable having it on hand -- that's totally up to you! You’ll just want to explain your daughter’s disability so the Cast Member can assess how to best help accommodate her. One solution is
Disability Access Service (DAS), which provides Guests with a return time for attractions, so they don’t have to spend that time waiting in the standard line queue. I believe this is the solution you may have been referring to in your question. Then, if a Cast Member signs your daughter up for DAS, you’ll be able to schedule additional return times at any Guest Relations locations throughout either theme park. In addition, you can use
Disney FASTPASS Service along with DAS to maximize your time in the parks. If you’d prefer to chat with a Cast Member ahead of time, you’re welcome
to contact Disability Services at (407) 560-2547.
I’m so excited for your vacation
to begin this Friday! You’re visiting at a wonderful time, Shanika! The
“Magic Happens” Parade made its debut yesterday, and it was just as magical as I hoped it would be! You can catch it most days at 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM in Disneyland Park. In addition, you won’t want to miss the
2020 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival in Disney California Adventure Park! I loved the
I Heart Artichokes kiosk, located near Grizzly River Run.
Please don’t hesitate to stop by with any additional questions, Shanika… I’m all EARs!
Wishing you Disney magic!
