Hey howdy hey, Jana, and welcome to planDisney! You’ve got a friend in me, and I can’t wait to help you with your question.
I’m so excited for your summer visit to the
Walt Disney World Resort! It sounds like you’re going to be embarking on quite the adventure at
The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort. Though you won’t have access to the pools at
Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, you will have access to two sparkling pools at The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, including the Meadow Swimmin’ Pool and whirlpool spa, and the Wilderness Swimmin’ Pool and whirlpool spa. The Meadow Swimmin’ Pool features an awesome corkscrew waterslide, plus a fun fort-themed water play area for tots, too. The Wilderness Swimmin’ Pool is an all-ages quiet pool, which is ideal for a relaxing swimming session.
Though you won’t have access to the pools at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, you will have access to their restaurants, including one of my favorites,
Whispering Canyon Café! When I last visited, I enjoyed
The Traditional All-You-Care-To-Enjoy Signature Skillet with friends for dinner, and it was delicious! Plus, there’s a handy
water launch ready to transport you to Wilderness Lodge.
My dear friend and fellow panelist,
Kristen N., says not to miss the restaurants at the campsites, too. One of her favorite spots is
P & J’s Southern Takeout, which has fantastic chicken and ribs that are voted as some of the best on property. There’s also the nightly
Chip ‘N’ Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long, which is her recommendation for old-fashioned family fun! Afterward, take in a
Movie Under the Stars at the outdoor theater of Meadow Recreation Area. Also, don’t miss the other awesome recreational offerings, including archery and horseback riding. There’s no limit to the amount of fun to be had!
I hope this information helps, Jana! Please stop by with any additional questions you may have… we’re all EARs!
