Hi Lori!
You'll be relieved to hear that there's really no where better to travel with an allergy than to Walt Disney World! Allergies are taken seriously, and they're used to accommodating them on a daily basis.
I've had peanut allergies, shellfish allergies and dairy intolerances in my travel party during. At each and every location at which we dined, the chef visited our table to discuss the allergy and offer information regarding safe choices from the menu, or additional items he'd be able to prepare to meet our needs. Be sure to indicate your son's allergy on each of your Table Service dining reservations and you'll also have this great peace of mind. You can find additional information regarding allergies and dietary restrictions on this sub page of the
Guest Services section of the Walt Disney World website.
That being said, you don't need to worry about an allergy affecting your choice of dining locations or resort options. The whole 'World' is yours! All resort rooms now include a mini-fridge, so if your main concern is the ability to keep smaller items refrigerated, you're covered no matter where you choose to stay!
If you'd prefer the convenience of a resort room that includes a kitchen or kitchenette, there are several choices. Your best and most economical options would include a Family Suite at Disney's All-Star Music Resort or Disney's Art of Animation Resort or a Cabin at Disney's Fort Wilderness.
If you have additional questions regarding specific resorts' benefits in order to help make your decision, I'd be happy to assist you further. Please write me back any time you wish Lori! I look forward to hearing from you again soon!
Wishing you a simply Magical time as you begin planning your family's trip to Walt Disney World!
