I know you have younger kids - ours will be 6, 5, and 3 at our next visit. How would you plan a day at the MK to see a parade and how would you plan Epcot or DHS for fireworks? We need a nap time of course and want it to flow nicely. Thank you!!

    Hi Abby!

Thank you so much for your question!  Yes, my kids are 8, 6, and 3, so I know all too well the importance of the midday nap!  For us, it's a necessity, especially while at Walt Disney World.

We have certain schedules we follow for certain days.  If I know we are going to hit the parks and head back for nap, then we plan on arriving to a park early (we utilize Extra Magic Hours), so that we can get as much in as we can before nap time.  This also means that we've already had breakfast at our resort.  It makes for an early morning, but we can get so much more done when the kids are rested and ready.

For those days that I want to try and stretch us a little further beyond our usual nap time, we usually sleep in, grab breakfast, and I try to push everything back about an hour or an hour and a half.  That'll usually get us to parade time.  Then, we head back to our room for a late nap, and then we usually try to catch some fireworks later in the evening.  This plan usually works well for us.

Fireworks at Walt Disney World are amazing, and we love each and every one of the shows.  Our kids are more interested in Fantasmic! because of the added element of the characters.  Seeing their favorite mouse battle evil makes for a great show!  Keep in mind, that the show can be a little intense for those younger guests (think Maleficent in Sleeping Beauty).

We dine a lot in Epcot's World Showcase...probably 75% of our meals are there on any given vacation, so we have the chance to see IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth multiple times each visit.  We love this show as well, and, for sentimental reasons, is my favorite show.

Thank you again for stopping by!  I'm so delighted that I'm able to help you plan your Walt Disney World vacation!

    Have a magical vacation!
