I know that the week of Presidents’ Day and the princess run is typically a busy week in February for WDW. I read several resorts are not opening in 2021. Could this possibly mean a slower crowd week because of the resort closures?

It's great to see you here today at planDisney, Julie! I'm so glad that I can answer your question today about planning your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World. Picking the time of year to go on vacation is one of the most important parts of setting your plans in motion, so let's chat about some of the special events coming up next year and what that might mean for the crowd levels in the theme parks.

Julie, I go to Walt Disney World Resort a couple of times a year and the crowd levels surprise me almost every time. I think I've done all my research and know exactly what to expect but inevitably, I always turn to my husband and say, "it's much quieter than I expected" or "there are more people here than I anticipated"! That has never been more true than this year when I think it's been harder than ever to predict people's travel plans.  That being said, there are a few weeks of the year that are really popular among guests, and those include long weekends, the week between Christmas and New Year's Day, and any weekend that includes a runDisney event. Even though there are some capacity restrictions currently in place during the phased reopening process and a few Resort Hotels that we don't have opening dates for yet, I would still expect Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend to be a popular place to be next February. So while I can't guarantee that it will be quiet, I can certainly guarantee that it will be magical! I have some friends that are truly obsessed with runDisney and make plans every year to be at The Most Magical Place On Earth to add a few more medals to their collections. It's a fun and empowering event, and I hope that you consider adding it to your calendar next year!

    Have a magical day, Julie!
