Hi Natalie! Like our friend, Dory says, “Just keep swimming. Just keep swimming.” I’m glad you brought your question about the Disney Water Parks to planDisney!
Currently, the Disney Water Parks operate on a rotating basis. When one park is open the other is closed for refurbishment and maintenance. Then the switch occurs so that the other water park can receive the same level of care!
At the present time,
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park is open for Guests through the summer and (most likely) at least the early fall. Once Disney's Typhoon Lagoon closes to receive annual care,
Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park will reopen for Guests! The exact timing of this is not currently posted, however, in recent years the transition takes place sometime in the early fall.
Natalie, I encourage you to keep a close eye on the Walt Disney World Resort website. It will be a reliable source regarding the schedules for the water parks. When you arrive at the site, simply enter either “Typhoon Lagoon” or “Blizzard Beach” in the search bar. When the page appears for the water park, you should see the date with a little calendar icon. You can change the date on the calendar to search for the date range for your visit!
October is a great month to visit the Walt Disney World Resort! The days are still nice and warm! Just perfect for a day at one of the water parks! Whether visiting Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park or Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park have a great time splashing around and staying cool in the Florida sun!
Dreams do come true!
Jonathan
