Is there a way to know what my trip cost would change to if I upgraded to annual passes

    Hi Joy!

Welcome to planDisney!  Did I hear someone musing with the idea of joining the most magical family on earth, also known as the Annual Passholder family? Well, you came to the right place! Let’s dive in and talk through the pros and cons (if any) of upgrading your tickets for your upcoming visit.

So, this Disney math is a little tricky, but there is a way to figure it out, and it usually requires a quick conversation with a Cast Member who can look at the exact details of your tickets. If you already have Walt Disney World theme park tickets, the value of those unused tickets can often be applied toward the purchase of a Walt Disney World Annual Pass. You would just pay the difference between what you already paid for the tickets and the current price of the Annual Pass.

Because of so many variables like ticket types, number of days, and any promotions you might have been able to take advantage of,  the easiest way to get the real numbers is to have a Cast Member pull up your reservation and do the math with you. They can tell you exactly what the upgrade would cost so you can decide if it makes sense for your trip.

Another thing to keep in mind, Joy, is that as an AP, you will have access to special benefits, like discounts on dining and merchandise! So that can be another added bonus to consider when doing all this pixie-dusted math!

Oh, and another super important note: if you decide to upgrade your tickets to an Annual Pass, you’ll want to do it before the last day of use on your ticket. Once a ticket is fully used, it can’t be applied toward an Annual Pass anymore.

Joy, I hope this information helps you draw closer to this big decision. And if you do take the leap and become a passholder, please pop back and see us. I’d love to share all my tips and tricks on how to maximize your pass and get as much pixie dust out of it as possible! A full yEAR of magic? I just don’t see a negative to this at all!

Wishing you a magical day and, hopefully, soon-to-be minted annual passholder status!
