Ahoy there, Caroline! Welcome aboard planDisney! I'm so excited to hear you're considering embarking on a
Disney Vacations by Land and Sea adventure!
In my opinion, it's the most incredible way to get the best of both worlds - without having to plan both vacations separately! We like to say a Disney Cruise Line vacation is "three vacations in one," and when you add a stay at Walt Disney World Resort to the mix, it's like getting four-in-one!
One of my favorite things about ANY Disney Cruise Line vacation - aside from the
gourmet dining options,
Broadway-caliber stage shows,
sparkling pools, and more - is honestly the bus transfer to Port Canaveral! Why is that? Well, its because the minute I step on that transfer, I know I can fully relax and the ship will be coming into view over the horizon in just over an hour!
Lucky for you, you can have the same experience as part of your Disney Vacation by Land and Sea! Much like booking transfers as part of a Disney Cruise Line vacation, when you
call a crew member to set up your reservation, you can tell them you will need transfers to the port! The crew members are super knowledgeable, and they'll help you arrange transfers from whichever
Walt Disney World Resort Collection hotel you select as your home for the "land" portion of your vacation. This does come with a cost for each member of your party, but in my experience it is well worth it for the convenience!
Now, I highly suggest cruising AFTER your Walt Disney World Resort stay - and not only because "Land and Sea" has a better ring to it than "Sea and Land!" Once you've spent several days exhausting yourself by doing everything that awaits at Walt Disney World Resort during
"The World's Most Magical Celebration," you can take your aching feet and luxuriate in
everything that's included on a Disney Cruse Line vacation to recover. I know that after walking 10-ish miles a day at the parks, sitting in a lounge chair in front of Funnel Vision or at the Quiet Cove Pool for hours on end is exactly the amount of energy I like to expend: as little as possible!
Well, Caroline, I hope that helps you set a course for an exciting adventure! If you need any additional help deciphering the coordinates to either part of your Disney Vacation by Land and Sea, please drop a message in a bottle my way again here at planDisney!
I wish you fair winds and following seas!
Andrew
