Any must know tips/advantages for staying in the FW Cabins. First time staying there this fall...so excited. You are all so helpful! Thank You!

Hi Michelle! Our family found the Fort Wilderness cabins a couple of years ago after staying for years at the Yacht and Beach Club resorts.  I still love those and love their location but have become very fond of the cabins.

They are extremely peaceful and much more quiet then a room in a resort. You won't have kids (and adults) running and screaming up and down the halls at all hours.  Who can blame excited children and expect them to remain quiet during a Disney trip but it never seems to fail that the noise carries into your room at the worst possible time!

I prefer the 2200 or the 2400 loops for the cabins. They are on nice level areas and are close to a bus stop and also the secondary pool. Many guests don't realize that the cabins are not camping. You too will get daily maid service and maintenance is at your beckon call. The benefits include the full kitchen. Most don't want to come on vacation to cook full meals but it is nice to have facilities to do simple orders.  Your cabin will have a full deck with a picnic table and also a grill.  If you use that grill it will be magically cleaned and ready to go for another hamburger and hotdog cookout by the next day. If you use a grocery service such as gardengrocer.com you will arrive to find your order there and perishables put away!

The biggest drawback to the cabins is their lack of storage space. There is one small closet and just a small 4 drawer chest.  The beds are all comfortable but those families who try to get six large people in them will find it very small!  Both the bedroom and the living area will have tv's and the living area also has a DVD player.

Fort Wilderness is teeming with so much to do from boating, swimming, horseback, pony rides, stable visits, Hoop Dee Doo, Mickey's Backyard Barbecue, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, and the gem of the restaurants, Trails End.  We will return in October and can't wait!
