Hey there Cathleen, and welcome to planDisney!

The first week or two in May always seems to be a very special time of year when the air ripples with a little extra cheer, and the sounds of excitement seem to resound across every corner of Walt Disney World Resort. It sounds like you'll be among the thousands that descend upon Orlando for the D2 Summit Championship and after speaking with our Cast Member friends at Guest Relations along with a bit of additional research into past Championship Celebration Party events here's a bit of insight that you might find helpful:

Looking at the Hours & Events Calendar for that evening, there will likely be day guests still lingering at Disney's Hollywood Studios as it closes at 9:00 P.M. who may have been waiting in a queue for a ride or attraction, finishing up their meals at a dining location or even watching Fantasmic! (which also begins at 9:00 P.M. and lasts approximately 29 minutes).

The D2 Summit Celebration Party is unlike attending Disney After Hours at Disney's Hollywood Studios which allows guests to enter as early as 7:00 P.M. on the event evening. Though in the past, party attendees with valid wristbands may have been allowed to enter earlier than expected, this is at the discretion of the Cast Members and their leaders that evening at the entry point to Disney's Hollywood Studios and cannot be guaranteed. You are just as likely to be instructed to wait in a designated area until the official start time of the event along with the thousands of other party-goers.

I recently had the opportunity to snag the latest reservation slot at Oga's Cantina, which is something I highly recommend for a greater chance at having a bit more space to enjoy your libations. There is a limit of 45 minutes per party and since only select food and beverage locations will be available during private events, there's no guarantee that they will remain open or wait for you to arrive for your reservation if you aren't let into Disney's Hollywood Studios early. In my personal experience, I've also observed management at Oga's Cantina strictly denying folks arriving after their reservation time; the policy officially states that "Late arrivals may not be accommodated." It may however, end up being at the direction of the Cast Members and their leadership on that evening if it's something you're willing to risk. (You'll also want to be aware that we were informed that "last call" would be about 20-30 minutes into our reservation at the last seating.)

That said, offerings and policies are always subject to change without prior notice and unfortunately based on each of the Cast Members' responses, there's no way to know for sure whether being able to experience Oga's Cantina on this particular evening is something you can truly accomplish. You might want to make sure that you arrive very early to be among the first to enter Disney's Hollywood Studios as soon as you are able to and make your way directly over to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge to see what's possible - knowing that your reservation cannot be guaranteed if you don't get there on time!
