Hi! Do you know what time Mickey and his patriotic pals typically begin their meet and greet on July 4th at the American Adventure in EPCOT? Hoping to hop in line early and avoid the heat of the day!

    Hiya Elizabeth,

Welcome back to planDisney! Can you believe that you are just a few short days away from your little Mouseketeer’s first Independence Day celebration? There is no better place to celebrate than Walt Disney World Resort, and I hope you have a magical time together.

Besides the fireworks, Mickey and Pals all decked out in their patriotic outfits of the day, circa 1776, is one of the most iconic parts of celebrating at the Most Magical Place on Earth. I hope you have already started planning out your Americana outfits of the day to match! I like that you are planning and thinking about the heat, Elizabeth; it is supposed to be in the 90s on the 4th of July, so hopping in line near the American Adventure Pavilion is a good strategy. I spoke to a Cast Member, and they told me that currently, Mickey, Goofy, and Pluto are scheduled to start greeting Guests around 10 am and alternate every 20-ish minutes with everyone’s favorite Rescue Rangers, Chip ‘n Dale, until around 5 pm. If it were me, I would head straight there once EPCOT opens up and get in line, and then once you get your photo, head inside the American Adventure rotunda to cool off your little one before getting back in line for Chip ‘n Dale.

I hope this was helpful, Elizabeth. Before I let you go, thunderstorms are also forecast for the 4th, which can impact the characters' schedule. I’ve always found that if you ask a Cast Member, they can help keep you informed of any delays so you can plan and avoid too much heat. Don’t forget to pack your rain gear and get as much time as possible in the inside attractions. My now four-year-old always loved the Seas Pavilion when she was an infant, and it was almost always a good place for a nap. My 18-month-old is currently obsessed with GoofyCore at Communicore Hall, so be sure to check that out during your EPCOT visit. There is a little area that is great for the littlest Mouseketeers to get in some tummy time and be in awe of all the sounds and big kids dancing around. I’m sure you are going to have an incredible time, Elizabeth, and I’m sure you have everything all planned out, but if there is anything else you need, please come back and see us. We love making sure that every visit is the very best it can be.

    Happy Planning,
