I know the time frame to cancel a dining reservation used to be 2 hours. I thought I read that changed to 24 hours, but can't seem to find that in writing.

Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Laurie!

Welcome to planDisney! We are DELIGHTED you stopped by and are honored to help you plan your upcoming trip to Disney World! Get ready for a trip filled with laughter, enchanting moments, and maybe a Mickey-shaped snack (or three). Whether you’re strolling down Main Street, U.S.A., or planning that perfect dinner under the fireworks, every detail of your trip adds to the fun. Just know Mickey can't wait to "See You Real Soon!"

What a GREAT question, and you are so wise to check the Disney Dining cancellation policies before you arrive! For years, the standard rule was that guests had to cancel dining reservations at least 24 hours in advance to avoid a fee. However, I have some MAGICAL news for those last-minute plan changes, as the policy has been updated! Now, for most table-service restaurants at Disney World, you can cancel up to 2 hours before your reservation time without being charged a no-show fee. Now, don't you just love happy endings?

It’s important to note that not every dining location follows this new 2-hour rule. Special experiences—like character dining, dessert parties, or dinner shows—often still require 24 hours or even longer to cancel, so it’s always wise to peek at the fine print on your My Disney Experience app or confirmation email. Disney lists each restaurant’s cancellation policy right there, so you’ll always know exactly what to expect.

As you continue to plan, be sure to check out the Disney Parks Blog for the most up-to-date information on all things Disney. Mickey and his pals have some incredible surprises planned, and we don't want you to miss any of the fun!

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask. We are here to help in any way!

    Have a MAGICAL day!
