How do I know theme nights for my cruise?

    Ahoy there, Melissa!

Theme nights on a Disney Cruise are the perfect excuse to dress up, let loose, and fully embrace the magic at sea! My family loves them too—Pirate Night is a favorite, though we’re still on a quest to experience Marvel Day at Sea. The different themes add a sprinkle of extra pixie dust to your voyage!

Here’s how you can uncover the theme nights for your sailing:

First, you can always call Disney Cruise Line directly. Their Cast Members are wonderfully helpful and can provide you with a list of theme nights for your cruise. Depending on your itinerary, you might enjoy Halloween on the High Seas, Very Merrytime Cruises, Marvel Day at Sea, or the classic Pirate Night!

Now, here’s a little insider tip I’ve discovered after a few cruises. If you’re within your booking window, you can use the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app to sleuth out Pirate Night specifically. Go into your reservation, click on “My Plans,” then “Add Activities,” and look under “Onboard Fun.” Check each day of your itinerary until you spot the “Pirate-Themed Makeover” activity—that’s the day you’ll want to don your eye patches and bandanas! While this trick works like a charm for Pirate Night, it may not help for other theme nights, but it’s still a handy tool in your Disney Cruise toolkit.

On Pirate Night, the dining experience gets a swashbuckling twist! If you're on a cruise longer than three nights, you’ll find a special pirate-themed menu in all the main dining rooms. The Bananas in Paradise dessert be the treasure of the galley—pure gold fer yer taste buds, matey! On a 3-night sailing, the pirate fun skips the dining room menu, so you’ll enjoy the regularly themed menu for your scheduled restaurant instead.

Finally, if you prefer to be surprised—or just didn’t have time to check beforehand—you can find out your theme nights once you’re at the terminal. Log into the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app using the ship’s Wi-Fi, and the full cruise schedule will be available for you to explore, including the theme nights.

Melissa, you’re setting sail for some unforgettable Disney fun! Whether it’s swashbuckling as a pirate, celebrating the holidays, or channeling your inner superhero, the theme nights are always a highlight of the cruise. As Captain Jack Sparrow might say, "Bring me that horizon"—and your best themed outfits, too!

Sea ya real soon with pixie dust and ocean breezes,
    Dustin
