Ahoy Evelyn!
Greetings from one Palmetto state resident to another! I love that you are ready to set out from the reef into deeper waters with a Disney cruise. Get ready to be wowed at
Castaway Cay! It's my absolute favorite tropical paradise. You'll be able to make all the "core memories" together whether you choose to explore or splash the day away. No wonder that Disney Cruise Line keeps winning
top awards for best private island!
To access Pelican Plunge, it does require swimming. So Guests will need to either be comfortable swimmers or wear a life vest. Additionally, all Guests will need to be at least 38 inches tall to use the water slides, and little guppies between 38 to 48 inches tall must wear a life vest. But you don’t have to bring one from home; complimentary life vests can be found at the beaches on Castaway Cay. So put that life vest on and slide the afternoon away!
While we’re on the subject of Castaway Cay activities, I’d suggest that everyone in your party has input in what you do on the island. Our most memorable Castaway Cay experiences have been when everyone in the family gets a say in what we do even if it means some time apart. My teenagers loved the independence the island could afford them, and it gave my husband and me some couples time over at the adult-exclusive Serenity Bay.
Just keep swimming back to
planDisney if you have more questions. As the character Crush would say in
Finding Nemo, I hope you have a “totally righteous” cruise!
