I would like to know what the sports massage at the Senses Spa at Saratogao Springs consists of. Is it similar to the swedish massage?

    Hi Shelley,

If you haven't had the opportunity to visit either of the Senses Spa locations at Walt Disney World, then you're in for a real treat. Even though I'm a dude, I'm a huge fan of getting spa treatments. Since I have a lot of frequent flyer miles at various spas, I can honestly say that the Senses Spas are top notch!

You asked a great question about the sports massage. The best way I can describe it would be to liken it to a deep tissue massage. While a Swedish massage might be more appropriate for general health and wellness, the sports massage treatments at Senses would be more appropriate for guests who may be "on the mend" or find themselves carrying tension in major joint or muscle regions.

If you're looking for a relaxing experience, then I'd opt for a Swedish massage. It's not that the sports massage won't be relaxing, but it may involve a little more digging into those pockets of tension and joint manipulation (for which some people may not find to be very relaxing).

Here's a little tip from your buddy Derek:

The therapists at the Senses Spas are great at being mindful of your experience. If at any point during the massage treatment you feel as if the pressure isn't right (either too much or too little), don't hesitate to tell them.

Here's a bonus tip from your buddy Derek:

Don't forget to drink LOTS of water after your massage treatment!

I hope that helps! If you should have any additional questions, please feel free to write back and I'll be happy to help in any way that I can.

    Best regards,
    Derek
