I know Space 220 Restaurant and Space 220 Lounge both take reservations. Is there a difference between the lounge and the actual bar? Can I do a walk up for the bar only? Or are the lounge and the bar one in the same?

    Hi, Susan. Welcome to planDisney

Space 220 is out-of-this-world fun and I've had the opportunity to dine there a few times. Right now, the restaurant is sort of divided into 3 parts even though they share the same space and have the same jaw-dropping views. You have the regular dining room, the lounge area and the actual bar. Right now, the dining room and the lounge are taking advanced dining reservations. The bar area is working on a first-come, first-serve basis. However, unlike most bar areas at Walt Disney World, the bar at Space 220 is only open to those Guests ages 21 and over at the moment.

At the lounge and the bar area, you'll have the option to order a meal from the prix fixe menu or you can choose from the flight bite or drink menu. I like both of these areas for that flexibility because there are so many yummy things to be had while you are at EPCOT. If you are interested in sitting in the bar area, you'll just head over to the restaurant when you are ready. Sometimes you can get lucky and head straight up and other times there will be a wait. A few weeks ago when I was there, the wait time for the bar had gotten to be around 2 hours. I think heading over there before the restaurant actually opens for the day would give you the best chance of not having a higher wait time.

I have my fingers crossed that you'll be able to enjoy Space 220, Susan. Please feel free to stop back by and ask me if you have any other questions.

    Enjoy!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
