Hello! I know that snacks can be taken in Magic Kingdom and no ice. Can we take the insulated bags with snacks and ice packs? Also, can we take our own water bottles?

Hello and welcome to planDisney, Mindy. Thanks for stopping by with your question.

Mindy, are you getting so excited about your trip to Walt Disney World? It's right around the corner! I bet the countdown is on. We actually just returned from a trip to Walt Disney World and the weather was just gorgeous. I hope it is the same for you.

You are absolutely able to bring in drinks and snacks to Magic Kingdom Park, Mindy. My family and I have done this for years. When you are packing your snack bag, keep in mind that per the park rules the dimensions need to be no larger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high (61 cm x 38 cm x 46 cm). As you have mentioned, loose ice is no longer permitted so reusable ice/gel packs are recommended. You are more than welcome to pack bottles of water or your own water bottles in your cooler bag, Mindy, but I actually recommend not doing this. Bottles of water can get really heavy to carry around, especially during the first part of the day when your bag is still full. Instead, I suggest grabbing free cups of ice water at any quick-service dining location when you are thirsty. You can just stop at the cashier and order your water and they will be ready for you in no time. This is what I do and I think it is such a great little extra that Walt Disney World does. They only give out small cups of ice water so be sure to order a couple if you are extra thirsty. Another thing to keep in mind when you are packing your cooler for the day, Mindy, is that there is no place to heat anything up while you are at the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. So be sure to pack items that can be enjoyed at room temperature or cold for your day. I love packing crackers, cheese, fruits, nuts and even some deli meats to enjoy - kind of like my own mini charcuterie board. These foods are easy to pack and easy to eat.

Mindy, I hope this helps you plan out your day a little bit better. If you have any other questions about this, or anything else, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm here to help.

    Have fun and enjoy!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
