Hi Connie,
Welcome to planDisney, and thank you so much for stopping by with your question! It sounds like your
Walt Disney World Resort vacation is right around the corner, so I won’t make you late for your very important date. Let’s jump right into it!
With so much to see and do,
Lightning Lane passes are one of my favorite ways to save time and reduce stress during a park day. There are three types to choose from: Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Lightning Lane Single Pass, and Lightning Lane Premier. Since you asked about just the Multi and Single passes, I’ll cover just those. And luckily for you (and all of us), both can be easily managed in the
My Disney Experience app.
When you purchase a Multi Pass, you’ll choose one theme park per day, the Guest(s) you’re purchasing for, and then select your attractions. Once you’ve chosen your park, you’ll see the available attractions that are available to be booked. Go ahead and select the three that are most important to you. On the next screen, the app will provide you with the suggested times, which are typically the earliest return times available. You can either keep these as is, or this is the point where you can adjust your selections to match your park strategy. To change the time for a specific attraction, you will tap on the “Modify Time” text in the attraction box and then select from the available time slots. For example, if you’re planning a character breakfast and won’t enter the park until late morning, or if you’re starting with a slower-paced morning at your resort, you can scroll through the time slots and pick return windows that work best for your schedule.
Single Pass works the same way but is designed for those high-demand attractions that are not included in Multi Pass. In the app, you’ll select the park, then your desired attraction, pick a return window from the available options, and confirm your purchase. This gives you even more control over your day by letting you prioritize your top “must-do” ride without waiting in a long line.
If you plan on utilizing the Multi Pass and Single Pass at the same park on the same day, Hakuna Matata, simply select both the Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass boxes on the initial screen and follow the same steps as above.
Connie, I use both Multi Pass and Single Pass every time my family visits, and it really helps us spend less time standing in queues and more time enjoying attractions, shows, and meals together.
If you’d like, I’d be happy to help you prioritize attractions, structure your park days, or even map out your Multi Pass or Single Pass strategy around your
three-day or seven-day booking window. Please come back to planDisney with any follow-up questions, and
I’ll be glad to share my own tried-and-true plan of attack!
See you real soon,
Brent
