Hi Karen,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. My son was just a little under 2 years old on his first Walt Disney World vacation, and he had the
best time! Watching his face light up on the rides, at shows, and when meeting characters was so magical. Our favorite memory from the trip was when he fell in love with Mickey Mouse. From that moment on, we would hear his teeny voice from his stroller saying “I see Mickey!” a hundred times a day…and we could never get enough!
Your son will be able to do so many wonderful things at Walt Disney World. One of my favorite tools is the
interactive Attractions page, which you can filter by height. From the all-new Alien Swirling Saucers in Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to classics like Peter Pan’s Flight in Magic Kingdom Park, there’s so much for him to love, and so many memories for you to make together.
Karen, when you look at the list, you’ll notice there are a lot of Disney animal experiences. I highly recommend Disney’s Animal Kingdom for his age. I think your little guy will love the super-cute meet and greet with Mickey and Minnie Mouse in their safari gear, the spellbinding ride down an otherworldly river on Na’vi River Journey, and fantastic shows like Festival of the Lion King and Finding Nemo: The Musical. Don’t miss a ride on the Wildlife Express Train, as well as visits to all the amazing animals in the theme park.
One more tip: don’t miss Walt Disney World’s
Planning Guide for Parents of Preschool Kids & Little Ones, which is full of great tips for having a pixie-dusted time with your little one!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
