Hi! I would like to know about the restrooms at the Magic Kingdom. My granddaughter is afraid of loud toilets. Are there any places that have quieter ones? thank you!

Hi, Leslie!  Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I am so happy to hEAR that you will be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort with your granddaughter.  Your vacation is sure to be a "grand" adventure!  Before your trip, you may want to look into purchasing Memory Maker so that you can download all of your Disney PhotoPass pictures and relive your magical memories for yEARs to come.

During my many visits to the Walt Disney World Resort, I have always found that there are plenty of clean and conveniently located restrooms throughout the theme parks.  Even with all of those restroom locations, the bathrooms do get quite busy.  All of those toilets and hand dryers can be rather loud, so I understand your concern for your granddaughter.  I have a few suggestions for you that will hopefully keep your bathroom breaks stress-free.

Did you know that each of the Walt Disney World theme parks has a Baby Care Center?  Did you know that the Baby Care Centers are not just for babies?  The Baby Care Centers are the perfect place for families to take a break even with older children.  Each Baby Care Center has a restroom equipped with child-size toilets, so your granddaughter may feel more comfortable using these restrooms.

If you need to take a bathroom break and you find yourself far from the Baby Care Center, I would recommend using a companion restroom.  Since the companion restrooms only have one toilet, it will be much quieter in there than in the regular restroom.  There are numerous companion restrooms throughout the theme parks.  You can locate companion restrooms using the theme park maps in your My Disney Experience mobile app.

I know many children are bothered by toilets that flush automatically.  If this tends to be a problem for your granddaughter, you may want to try carrying some post-it notes with you.  You can stick a post-it note over the sensor on the toilet.  That way, it won't surprise her by flushing loudly before she is finished using the toilet.

I hope these suggestions are helpful.  If we can answer any additional questions for you as you prepare for your vacation, please don't hesitate to ask.  Have a magical day!
