I know the resorts put a hold on your credit card for room charges. I want to make sure I have enough on there. How much does Animal Kingdom Lodge hold? I want to say it was 2,000 or 1,500? Thanks

Hi Lisa! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

You are in the final days of the countdown to your stay at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. How dreamy! I quickly fell in love with this Disney Resort hotel when my family and I first stayed there a couple of years ago. For me and my husband, it feels quiet and relaxing, and for the kids it is exciting to see all of the animals. It is the best of both worlds!

In my experience, when I link a credit or debit card to my reservation, there is no hold and nothing gets charged to my card unless I use my MagicBand to charge purchases to my hotel account. Since my family uses gift cards or cash to pay for everything, we don't have any charges put on our MagicBand. If you do use your MagicBand for purchases, your credit card typically will either be charged at check-out or when you reach the limit for that hotel category, whichever comes first. The last time I checked, the limit at a Deluxe Disney Resort hotel was $2000.00. Once your purchases reach that amount, it will be charged to your card on file, then the limit is reset and you can spend up to that amount again before your card is charged (or it will be charged at check-out).

I hope this helps with your planning, Lisa! Please visit us again with any other questions you may have!
