Hi! I know I've read this answer before, but now that it applies to me, I can't seem to remember the exact answer. Bringin my niece (11) in Oct with the free DP. Can she still select items from the kids menu? I know she won't like all the adult offerings.

Hi Wendy!  Thanks for asking your question here on the Disney Parks Moms Panel.  Isn't the Free Dining promotion great?

This is a tricky question.  Technically "adults" are supposed to order off of the regular menu when on the Disney Dining Plan.  However, more often than not, the restaurant will be happy to work with you.  It is up to their discretion.  If your niece doesn't see anything she likes on the adult menu, she very likely will be able to order off of the kids menu. Your server may even up her portion so it is more like an adult meal.  You will, however, still be charged her adult table service credit for the meal.  My daughter is 7 and still considered a child on the plan.  She is very picky and often times can't find items she likes.  We are always mixing and matching food at restaurants while on the Disney Dining Plan and it hasn't once been an issue.  The Cast Members try their best to make things work, that is part of the reason I love vacationing at Walt Disney World so much.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask me.  Have a magical day!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
