You are correct that seats are typically preassigned for the
Fantasmic! Premium Dining Package at
River Belle Terrace in my experience. You can try stopping by the restaurant a couple of hours before your reservation time to request a front-row table. Keep in mind that requests are not guaranteed. It seems like table configurations are based on several factors, including the party size for each group that evening, making it difficult to accommodate table requests.
The last time my family watched
Fantasmic! from River Belle Terrace, we were seated in the middle of the patio. I adjusted my kids' chairs at our table so they could see between the Guests sitting in the front row. We just made sure to avoid blocking the view of the Guests behind us. Fortunately, much of Fantasmic! occurs on elevated surfaces, and it was fairly easy for them to see most of the action (although my youngest child fell asleep in my lap as soon as the performance began...oops!).

Halloween Screams (a nighttime spectacular), a Lightning Lane entry to a select attraction, and a photo op with the Hitchhiking Ghosts from the Haunted Mansion. It is a great way to celebrate the Halloween season!
