Hi Jessica! Welcome back to planDisney! Thanks again for stopping by with your question!
If I made a lift of attractions I want to see return to the Walt Disney World Resort, the
Walt Disney World Railroad has to be at the top of the list. This is such an iconic fixture at the
Magic Kingdom Park and it has been entirely too long since anyone has taken a ride on it. It's been closed since the construction started for the highly anticipated TRON Lightcycle Run, which will be located in Tomorrowland behind
Space Mountain. The Walt Disney World Railroad's track at one point ran through this construction area, so it will be interesting to see how Disney Imagineers reimage this attraction. (If you want to get a look at the construction and progress that has been made for TRON Lightcycle Run, take a ride on the
Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover. This attraction takes you around Tomorrowland and gives you great vantage points of the new ride area.)
At this time, there has been no official word of a return date for the Walt Disney World Railroad. I think everyone is hoping that once the construction is complete, there will be more information about the return of this popular attraction. If you find yourself missing taking a ride on the railroad, you can always head over to Frontierland and hop on
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. The ride won't be as long, but it will be full of thrills.
Speaking of new attractions, be on the lookout for the
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind which is set to open this Summer at
EPCOT. I'm not sure when exactly this ride will debut, but keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for any announcements that are released. There are so many fun and exciting experiences coming that more trips need to be planned to fit it all in!
I hope you have an amazing time on your upcoming vacation, Jessica!
See ya real soon!
