I know push wagons are no longer allowed, but are there exceptions for children with disabilities? Our 50”, 75lb son is too big for strollers. But a place like Disney will definitely be too much walking for him. Looking for options. Thanks!

    Greetings Angelica!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I am so glad that you stopped by.

As a mom of a child with special needs, I can understand how sorting through the unknowns of travel may be a bit challenging. One of the reasons that I love to travel to the Walt Disney World Resort is because of their work hard to assure that guests of all abilities have a truly magical time.

At this time, push wagons are not permitted in the parks. Strollers must be 31” (79cm) wide and 52” (132cm) long or smaller. With that being said, Disney has a featured provider that offers strollers and mobility devices for rent. Upon searching Scooterbug website, they have strollers available to rent for those with Adaptive Needs. “The Freedom Push Adaptive Needs chair can accommodate up to 200lbs and states that it provides a comfy ride for larger children and small adults with adaptive needs.”

If you haven’t looked into it already, Disney Parks has Services for Guests with Disabilities. Be sure to check out these services in case you feel that additional assistance may be helpful to your family.

I hope that I have helped to answer your question. I hope that you have a truly memorable vacation!
