Hi Yanetsy!
Welcome to planDisney! A new little Mouseketeer? How exciting! I love celebrating special occasions at Walt Disney World Resort and there is nothing more magical than planning to welcome a little one.
Yanetsy, there are several cute ideas I've seen for those doing a gender reveal at
Magic Kingdom Park. The first thing I would recommend before making any plans is to review the
property rules for Walt Disney World Resort as some common gender reveal items like poppers and confetti cannons would not be allowed. One idea is to purchase a onesie or cute plush that would reveal the gender. You could bring both options to the checkout counter and ask the Cast Member to check your envelope and then place the correct item in your bag. When you're ready to complete your reveal, you can open your bag and see what's inside! You could also do something similar with an "I'm Celebrating" button. For a small fee, the artists at
Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in Liberty Square can take a peek at your gender results and artistically write your gender on the button. Another suggestion would be to grab a pair of classic infant Mickey ears and have them embroidered at
Curtain Call Collectibles with either "Baby Boy" or "Baby Girl."
I would suggest booking a
Capture Your Moment photo session as a special way to commemorate your announcement and grab some adorable maternity photos. While there is a fee for the session, if you've purchased
Memory Maker for your vacation, the photos from this session are included. Character appearances are not a part of the Capture Your Moment sessions, but if you'd like to make Mickey part of the magic, you can find him meeting guests at
Town Square Theater throughout the day. Here you can pose with your gender reveal item and celebrate with Mickey hugs - the best!
Once you've completed your gender reveal, I'd recommend celebrating with an extra special dinner at one of the great restaurants located near Magic Kingdom Park.
California Grill, located inside Disney's Contemporary Resort, is my personal favorite when I'm celebrating a special occasion at Walt Disney World Resort, but other great options include
Citricos and
Narcoossee's, both at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.
Yanetsy, I hope this information is helpful as you plan an extra magical celebration. If there is anything else we can help with, please stop by planDisney to see us again! Now I guess just one question remains. . .make it pink or make it blue?
Cheers,
Kristi
