Welcome to
planDisney! Thank you for stopping by with your questions Melanie. Celebrating birthdays at the parks can bring such special memories as they seem to have for your daughter when she was a child.
Walt Disney World is a destination for celebrations of every kind. I have visited for each of my children's birthdays as well as my own multiple times. I cannot think of a better way to spend my birthday, and I am glad you are deciding to visit with your grandson for his 9th. Children under 3 years of age are Uncle Walt's guest. The pricing for children 3-9 years old is listed on the website and is dependent on the day, and park you will be visiting. While there are no special gifts at this time for birthdays there are several ways to celebrate it during your visit. Your first stop must be to a Cast Member to receive your "I'm Celebrating" pin. This pin will get him special attention from Cast Members all over the parks and resorts. You should have this pin visible at all times, and in some cases you may find a little pixie dust sprinkled your way, along with a bunch of Birthday wishes from Cast Members and guests alike.
Another way is ordering a cake from
Amorette's Patisserie located at
Disney Springs. If you are having a meal at a table service restaurant during your stay, you can check to see if that restaurant is on the list of locations you can have a cake delivered. The bakery encourages you to place your order up to 30 days before your visit and at least 48 hours before you need the cake. There are two types of cake depending on how many guests you will have and specific Disney-inspired designs to choose from.
I hope this information is helpful and that you are able to celebrate this birthday in style. Visit us again anytime!
See ya real soon,
Jeremy A.
