Hi Jean! Welcome to planDisney!
Visiting
Walt Disney World around Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year to do so! The
Magic Kingdom Park is seasonally decorated up and down Main Street, U.S.A. and throughout many areas of the park. Mickey-shaped pumpkins line the lampposts throughout and fall foliage is sprinkled in all over! Walt Disney World will typically start decorating for this holiday around mid-August and keep them up until the end of Halloween night. It gives many Guests a chance to celebrate this holiday when they can fit it into their schedule.
Disney has held some fun and family-friendly Halloween events over the years. Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party debuted back in 1995 and has been an annual event until a couple of years back. I was able to attend in 2019 with my family and we had an amazing time. Between Mickey’s Boo To You Halloween parade, the fireworks, and the stage show, we still talk about that night almost every day. Since the phased reopening, Walt Disney World held a modified event last year named
Disney After Hours Boo Bash. There were some special elements to this event, but it was scaled down from the previous iteration.
Based on when the Halloween After Hours event was announced last year, I’m hopeful that we should receive some information about this year’s event sometime in the next month. The event usually runs from mid-August until Halloween, so your anticipated arrival in August will hopefully be the perfect timing! My fingers are crossed that Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party makes a triumphant return this year. With the return of traditional meet and greets later this month, I’m hoping Jack and Sally are meeting again during the event. My daughter is the biggest Nightmare Before Christmas fan and the interaction we had with each of these characters when we attended was incredible!
Jean, keep checking the
Disney Parks Blog for any news and announcements relating to this event.
I hope to see ya real soon!
