Hi! I know all the pools are heated in Disney but what about the splash pads? The week we go to Polynesian will be 70 and my kids will have a hard time avoiding the splash pad area so hoping it’s also heated! Thank you!

Aloha Michelle!  Welcome back to planDisney!

This might be the DOLE Whip talking, but for me, nothing beats lounging around the Lava Pool at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.  With its lush tropical greenery, relaxing island music, and enchanting glimpses of Cinderella Castle, it's one of my favorite spots in all of Walt Disney World. I'm so excited to hear that you and your family will be enjoying this magical oasis in just a few short weeks!

The weather in Central Florida can be unpredictable in January, where it's not uncommon to see temperatures fluctuate from the mid-60s to mid-80s over the course of a few weeks.  Luckily, the Walt Disney World Resort keeps the heaters running year-round to heat pools and splash pads, like Kiki Tiki's Splash Play Area at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, at 82 degrees.  And while it was a little chilly for my taste, my children happily spent hours frolicking in both the pool and the splash playground during our January Resort stay several years ago at Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows.

As you and your family relax by the pool, you'll have the perfect opportunity to place a Mobile Food Order for Capt. Cook's using the My Disney Experience mobile app.  My personal favorite menu selection is the Aloha Pork Sandwich with house-made chips –– it's the perfect combination of sweet and savory!  You can place your order right from your phone and schedule an arrival window that works best for you.  Then you can sit back, relax and wait for the notification that your order is ready to be picked up.  If you're heading back from Magic Kingdom Park, you can even place your order while sitting on the Monorail so it's ready when you arrive back at your Resort!

Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question, Michelle!  I'm wishing and your 'Ohana a magical time during your upcoming visit!
