Hello there, Nicholas!
This is the way [to plan a fabulous Walt Disney World Resort vacation]! I’m so glad that you and your family are venturing to
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios for your father’s retirement celebration. My family recently did a Walt Disney World Resort vacation for my parent’s retirement, and it was so special going with a big group.
I hope you don’t go over to the dark side because Disney has not announced plans for May the 4th at the Walt Disney World Resort yet. Your best bet is to watch the Disney Parks Blog over the next few weeks to see when they put out information. For example, last year, they put out a special
Foodie Guide,
Disney PhotoPass Star Wars-themed photos, and a
list of festivities available at Disney Parks for May the 4th. I’m unsure what will be offered this year, but I’m eagerly practicing the force while I refresh the page.
If you’re looking for fun Star Wars-themed activities for the whole family, I recommend making a reservation for
Oga’s Cantina to hear DJ R-3X playing some classic beats. They have some out-of-this-world concoctions with and without alcohol. Your force-sensitive group may want to consider making a reservation to construct a droid at
Droid Depot or lightsabers at
Savi’s Workshop - Handbuilt Lightsabers. If your family chooses one of these offerings, note that the experience area is limited to the builder and one Guest, so you would need at least five bookings for your entire party to join in on the fun.
Alternatively, I enjoy downloading the
Play Disney Parks app before my vacation to use my Star Wars: Datapad around Batuu to accept jobs and interact with droids. If you have a
MagicBand+, you can also take part in Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters to collect virtual bounties. I like to do these activities with a cool glass of
Blue Milk in my free hand.
P.S. Make sure to look out for Din Djarin and Grogu. You never know if you might spot them walking around Batuu.
May the magic be with you!Melanie
