I know many places offer discounted tickets/access for caregivers and/or companions of those with disabilities that are unable to go to places on there own. Is Disney World or Disneyland included in that list of places? If so, what is/are those discounts?

    Hi Jennifer,

Walt Disney World is one of the most accessible places for guests with disabilities. They have designed the theme parks to be convenient and enjoyable for all guests and their caregivers.

There are no discounts for caregivers or companions but there are so many things that they offer to make the experience easier for both of you. Disability Access Service (DAS) is a service intended for guests whose disability prevents them from waiting in lines for an extended time. You can utilize the My Disney Experience app to request a return time for each ride and then skip the standby line for entry through the Lightning Lane for a seamless and less overwhelming experience. This service is included in your ticket price if you qualify. You can set it up ahead of time or at Guest Services when you arrive.

In addition to DAS, Disney offers a whole host of services for guests with disabilities. They have thought through how to make the theme parks work for everyone and that is evident in the list of services they provide as well as how the theme parks cater to all sorts of guests. When visiting as a caregiver, one of the things that gives me a piece of mind is that there are companion bathrooms throughout all of the Disney theme parks. These restrooms are private and large enough for you to go in with someone else to assist with anything needed throughout your visit.

Disney resort hotels also offer accessible rooms for people with mobility and hearing disabilities to make the stay safer and more comfortable. All of the transportation provided as part of your stay at a Disney resort hotel is also designed for accessibility and takes you directly from your resort hotel to the theme park entrances to start the magic immediately.

    Happy Planning
