Ahoy there, Janet! Welcome aboard planDisney!
Ah, I see you're already a pro when it comes to taking advantage of onboard booking! I think the only cruise my family and I haven't booked a placeholder on was our very first one, all the way back in 2001! Placeholder reservations are truly one of the "no-brainer" parts of any Disney Cruise Line vacation if you ask me!
The one thing that isn't as clear about placeholders is how to check the status of one! While you can
find a cruise, search for
Port Adventures, book up to four staterooms per reservation, and much, much more on the Disney Cruise Line website, placeholders require a rub of the lamp!
(That means
a call to a Disney Cruise Line crew member if you couldn't tell!)
It's important to remember that placeholder reservations are valid for up to two years from the date you make them, so as of today, any placeholder made in mid-2020 would likely be valid. Though, since all the sailings were affected during the pause in sailings, that call to a crew member is even more important than ever, though as a general rule, most placeholders have been extended out through September 2022. A crew member should be able to look up your placeholder status using your last name and a few other details you provided when you booked!
Oh, and since you mentioned a Castaway Club, be sure to
take advantage of the Castaway Club contact number found on the benefits chart on the Disney Cruise Line website! Don't forget the secret handshake...
Just kidding!
I hope you find the perfect itinerary to grant your WISH for your next Disney Cruise Line vacation, Janet! But if one just doesn't satisfy your schedule, don't worry - placeholder reservations are completely refundable, as well! Thank you so much for your question, and if any others surface while making your plans, please drop us another line here a planDisney!
Fair winds and following seas!
