Ahoy and welcome to planDisney, Joanne! I had the opportunity last month to cruise out of Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale. It was so easy with the Disney Cruise Line dedicated terminal. The
Disney Parks Blog has a great post to learn what to expect and a bit more about the opening of this new port.
The easiest way to find out if your cruise has a formal and pirate night is in an unexpected place:
Disney Cruise Line dining dress code. For a seven-night cruise, you will have:
- One Pirate Night or other themed party (like Frozen on certain Disney Wonder and Magic cruises)
- Three cruise casual nights
- One semi-formal and
- One formal night
With a Caribbean cruise, you should expect a Pirate Night. With your cruise so close, if you want to see which night, you can follow a trick I learned: check Onboard Activities online or in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App for the times Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique offers "Pirate's League" appointments. The Boutique is transformed to get pirates ready to join the deck party and fireworks at sea.
On formal and semi-formal nights, you will see guests in attire ranging from cruise casual to fashion's finest. These nights are fantastic for family photos with special backdrops that highlight the elegance of the evenings. I like to pack efficiently, so the outfit you choose for one of these nights could also take you to my favorite dining location: Palo. This adult-only restaurant has breathtaking views of the ocean while being positively spoiled with a divine menu. If you go, be sure to try the chocolate souffle. My teenager has made me promise to take him on a cruise for his 18th birthday to finally be able to enjoy this incredible dessert.
Wishing you a magical vacation! If you have any other questions, come back to planDisney. We are here for you!
Happy Cruising!
