Hi, I know we have to pay for parking at the resort per night but was wondering if we have to pay to park at the parks if we choose to drive versus using the provided transportation

    Hey there, Kathryn,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm so excited to hEAR you have booked an upcoming Walt Disney World vacation!

When visiting Walt Disney World Resort,  my family loves to have our car in order to easily travel to other Disney Resort hotels for meals. You are correct. Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel will be charged for standard overnight self-parking, which is based on your Resort Category.  However,  you will receive complimentary standard parking at the theme parks and water parks as a Disney Resort hotel Guest. You should not have to pay an additional fee to park at the theme parks unless you decide to upgrade to preferred parking. When arriving at the theme park, a Cast Member will scan your MagicBand to verify you are a registered Guest staying on property. Depending on our resort location, my family often drives to the theme parks as well rather than using bus transportation, with Magic Kingdom Park being the exception. We have found it to be easier to utilize Disney's complimentary transportation when accessing the iconic park.

Be sure to check out all the new and magical experiences coming to Walt Disney World Resort in 2019. You've picked a great year to visit!

I hope this information is helpful to you, Kathryn. Please stop by again with any new questions. We would love to assist you further in planning a magical 2019 trip!

    Happy Travels,
