Hey there, Karen!
Great to see you here at planDisney, thanks for swinging by with a thoughtful question about your tickets. I love the Disney water parks, especially for a fun way to get some Disney into your day with a splash and to cool down during the hot summer months in Florida. I do understand that plans or interests change, and I’m happy to help you understand what’s possible with your tickets.
I spoke with a friendly Cast Member today to confirm the policies, but generally the water parks of
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and
Disney’s Blizzard Beach are considered separate entities from the four theme parks at the
Walt Disney World Resort. The tickets have different values and experiences associated with them, so they cannot be exchanged in the traditional sense. You may use the value of your purchased, unused water park ticket towards the cost of a future water park ticket – perhaps you’d like to visit the water parks next year, but the price has increased, for example. The already paid value can be applied and you simply pay the difference of the new ticket price in the future when the water parks align better with your vacation plans.
If you want to inquire about a potential exception to applying the value of a water park ticket towards a theme park ticket, you can
call Disney’s Ticket Guest Services team and see what they may offer. Please know that there’s no guarantee that this exception can be arranged, but looking at your exact ticket and discussing over the phone may be the best option before your vacation.
Whether you’re laughing and splashing in the water parks or exploring #AlltheDisneyThrills at the four theme parks, you’re going to have an amazing time at the Walt Disney World Resort! Be sure to check out

Wishing you a practically perfect vacation,
Amy
