I would like to know if our party can check into our lodge earlier due to our flight landing mid-morning? It would be absolutely wonderful if we could rest a bit before taking on the Animal Kingdom. Thank you so much for your time and attention to this.

    Hi Nancy,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Hooray for early flights to Orlando! We love to get our vacation at the Walt Disney World Resort started as early as possible.

Although official resort hotel check-in starts after 3:00 p.m., we always do online check-in and typically have received a text notification that our resort hotel room is ready before that 3:00 p.m. time. Early check-in is not guaranteed, but I would advise you to stop by the front desk of your resort hotel when you arrive. When we have arrived and our room has not been ready, we have stored our luggage with Bell Services and gone to get lunch at the resort hotel.

Nancy, if or when you make your Fast Pass+ selections, be sure to account for possible travel delays when selecting Fast Pass+ times for that first day. We normally never schedule a Fast Pass+ prior to 6:00 p.m. on the day we arrive. Since we typically fly and air travel can be unpredictable, I allow a lot of extra time for us to actually get to the park. We also typically never visit a park on our departure day. We prefer to just pack, get breakfast and enjoy the resort on the day we leave.

While at Disney's Animal Kingdom, be sure to take an expedition on Pandora - The World of Avatar. Avatar Flight of Passage is our favorite attraction now. Sivako! Rise to the challenge!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
