I know the parks will take purchased souvenirs back to your room. Will they do the same if you have a bag or treats? I love to buy my kids extra goodies to take hike but don’t want to carry them around and possibly melt

    Hi Jenna!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you so much for bringing your question to us hEAR!

Oh, I am with you 100% on not wanting to carry around extra stuff while in the parks enjoying my Disney Days. (Actually I think I love not forgetting that I just bought something and losing it like 10 minutes later.) One of my absolute favorite included perks of staying at a Disney Resort Hotel is the wonderful 'Merchandise Delivery' service you mentioned where items purchased in the parks are sent back to your Disney Resort Hotel for safe keeping. Because guests can leave their packages in this secure location for pick-up on the last day of their vacation, unfortunately food items are excluded from this service, including pre-packaged shelf-stable goodies like bags of individually wrapped hard candies or wrapped boxes of chocolate covered pretzels.

You can, however, find some of the same in-park sweet treats in locations that don't require an admission ticket. Disney Springs has two shops that rival, possibly even upstage, the Main Street Confectionery found on Main Street U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom Park. These are Goofy's Candy Company and Disney's Candy Cauldron. Every Disney Resort Hotel has at least one shop where hard candies and boxes of 'ready to be packed' snacks, like flavored popcorn, can be purchased the same as in the parks. And kind of a fun bonus, these resort hotel shops are usually the same locations where your merchandise is held, so whatever you can't send back to your resort can be found here as you pick-up your packages!

Most Disney Resort Hotel Quick-Service Dining Locations have a selection of freshly baked desserts that can be packaged to-go. And really neat is most Disney Resort Hotels are easily connected to another Disney Resort Hotel, so if your hotel doesn't have what you're looking for, check "next door." The three All-Star resorts are connected via a short sidewalk. Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter is connected to Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside by both a walking trail and a complimentary water taxi, and that water taxi also continues on to Disney Springs. And thanks to the brand new Disney Skyliner, guests at Disney's Pop Century Resort and Disney's Art of Animation can easily get to Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, the brand new Disney's Riviera Resort, as well as Disney's BoardWalk faster and easier than ever before.

My favorite non-park location that has a good combination of fresh baked desserts, confections and pre-packaged sweets is the 4th Floor of Disney's Contemporary Resort. Bayview Gifts that has a miniature candy counter serving the same cookies, fudge and other treats that can be found at the bigger bakeries. Contempo Cafe usually has an amazing cupcake selection. And the other packaged goodies can be found at the Fantasia Market.

I hope this gave you some food for thought, Jenna, and helped to plan your upcoming Disney Days. We'll See You Real Soon!
