I know you can order a birthday cake at the podium of table service restaurants. Are these cakes peanut and tree nut free. My grandson has a severe nut allergy. Thanks!!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Donna!

Walt Disney World Resort is the perfect place to celebrate a birthday and every birthday party needs a cake! Since my son has multiple food allergies, including peanut and tree nut, I completely understand how difficult it can be to find safe cakes and treats. In my experience, when we have spoken to chefs during our meals at Walt Disney World Resort they have advised us that breads and cakes from the normal bakery would not be safe for our son due to peanuts and tree nuts used in the main bakery facility. So in order to ensure a safe cake for your grandson, I would recommend that you pre-order a custom cake to be delivered to the restaurant where you will be dining that the bakery can make using safe ingredients in a safe environment. You can do this by calling the Walt Disney World Resort cake ordering hotline at (407) 827-2253. When you call, you will first hear options for different restaurant locations. You will want to bypass these options and select the option for allergy cakes. (When I called today, it was number 9.) They will be able to help you order a cake for your celebration that is safe for your grandson, tasty for your entire family and the perfect way to say "Happy birthday"!
