Hi, Brittany! Welcome (back) to planDisney.
Taking your kids to Walt Disney World is the best! There’s something truly unforgettable about watching them meet their favorite characters or explore
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Experiences like building a droid at
Droid Depot are especially exciting for kids. It gives them a hands-on way to step right into the story and take a core memory home with them.
Now, about your situation: you're not alone in wondering how this works as a solo parent. Officially, Disney’s policy is that only one Guest may accompany the person building the droid due to the limited space inside the workshop. The room itself is on the smaller side, and this rule helps manage crowding and keep the experience smooth for everyone. Whilst Cast Members are always kind and helpful, exceptions can’t be guaranteed. You’re definitely welcome to speak to the Cast Members on-site and explain your situation, but it’s important to know they may not be able to make accommodations depending on how busy it is or how full the experience is at that time. I wish I could give you a more definite answer, Brittany.
One tip: you might consider booking your Droid Depot time during a quieter part of the day — early morning or late afternoon — when things are typically less crowded and Cast Members may have a bit more flexibility. If your younger two are old enough to sit just outside the building zone safely, bringing along a quiet activity or snack can help pass the time while their sibling builds. It’s not always easy being the only grown-up on these adventures, but you're doing an amazing thing for your kids. You are the magic!
