    Do you know if there is going to be a new RESORT REFILLABLE MUG coming any time in 2012? We have the 2011 mugs, but I would like a new design when we go in October, but haven't seen any sign of a new one.

    Hi Nicole! There are many guests who come to Walt Disney World who love to collect these great and colorful refillable mugs. The pattern has been that Disney will use the same design for about two years thus making the 2011/12 mugs the same. They will do this until their supply is out so perhaps if you are lucky by October you will find a new design.

    They have also used a test system with some of the resorts where the mugs are outfitted with an RFID chip in the bottom. This prevents a guest from using the mug at any other resort except where it was purchased. There are time limits for refilling them as well so they can't fill other drink containers.  I believe it was a 70 second fill time and then you have to wait about five minutes before you can fill that mug again. I don't know how successful this system has been or how widespread it has gotten.
