Howdy fellow Texan, Elizabeth!
Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I'm so glad you're here!
Oh, boy! Am I excited about seeing our favorite Power Couple in their very first attraction at
Walt Disney World Resort!
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway at
Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be located inside the iconic Chinese Theatre and we are told it will take Guests inside a cartoon short, where anything can happen because here “mouse rules apply!”
I can’t wait for you to experience this attraction with Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy! I checked
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway page, clicked on “Show Safety, Accessibility and Guest Policies,” and saw wheelchairs will be accommodated, but you will have to transfer out of the wheelchair/ECV. There will be a Cast Member at the queue waiting to assist you. I also called
Disability Services and was told they will be using the
Disability Access Service for the attraction. This service allows Guests whose disabilities prevent them from waiting in the queue a return time.
Elizabeth, here is a
Guide for Guests with Disabilities at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This is useful because it has Amenities for rent or deposit, as well as all the rides with Mobility Access and where the access point is. For instance, when I look at Star Tours - The Adventures Continue, it states, “Mobility Access: See a Cast Member for Transfer Access Seat and transfer information.” Of course, once Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway opens, it will be added to the Guide. These Guides are available for all
four Theme Parks, and you can find them
here. You can also take a look at the
Attraction Access Categories for Guests with Mobility Disabilities.
In the upcoming weeks, we will hear a lot more details about how the attraction will operate and further accessibility information, so keep checking back!
Elizabeth, have the most magical time at The Most Magical Place on Earth. We hope to see ya real soon, pal!
Aena
