Hi Cecilia!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. I'm happy to help!
One of the best things about a Walt Disney World Resort vacation is being able to leave your car behind and get wherever you need to go using complimentary
Walt Disney World Transportation! Guests can travel by monorail, bus, boat - or even float through the sky on the
Disney Skyliner - whatever best fits your family's needs!
One of my family's favorite ways to travel around Walt Disney World is by boat. There's nothing better than a cool breeze on a warm day, as you cruise across the water to your destination. It's a wonderful way to get from place to place when you're not in a hurry and can enjoy the sights and sounds of the waterways.
While most Disney watercraft are stroller-friendly and wheelchair accessible, it will depend on which boat you're boarding whether or not you'll need to remove your child and fold up the stroller. The Ferryboat, for example, allows access for those with wheels to board without any issue. Water Taxis typically require Guests to step down into the boat, therefore the stroller would need to be folded prior to boarding.
Here are some helpful tips to help you choose the best option for you:
- Disney Monorails and Magic Kingdom Ferryboats - children may remain seated in their strollers.
- Disney Bus Transportation - all strollers must be folded prior to boarding.
- Disney Skyliner - most strollers may remain open, however, side-by-side style strollers are too wide and must be folded to board.
- Water Taxis/Resort Launches - depending on the watercraft, strollers are most likely required to be folded before boarding.
If you're traveling alone with your child and need assistance with your stroller, simply ask one of the Cast Members at the dock - they will be more than happy to assist you.
I hope this helps with your planning and preparing for a magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
