What a fantastic idea to add
Disney Genie+ for all Guests in your party, as this is a magic carpet ride worth taking. Good news, you can manage
Lightning Lane selections for everyone in your party! Just link the tickets to your account first – in the
Disneyland mobile app, go to Tickets and Passes, and click the “+” in the upper right corner to link tickets. The easiest way is to scan the barcode of each ticket, but you can also manually enter the ticket ID number.
Once you have entered the parks, go to My Genie Day, My Day, and you’ll see a link to add Genie+. You’ll be able to select all the members of your party and purchase it for everyone. You can reserve Lightning Lanes for up to 12 Guests at a time. If your party is larger than 12, consider having two Guests in your party link up to 12 tickets and reserve Lightning Lanes simultaneously. As return times are a window of 60 minutes, you should be able to get Lightning Lane times close enough together to experience the attractions together.
Let me share a few more tips about using Genie+ that may help you:
1.You can select one Lightning Lane per attraction per day. For example, you can use the Lightning Lane for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad only once in a day, but you could opt to use the standby queue if you want to ride it again.
2. There are three attractions not included in Genie+ - these have Individual Lightning Lanes you can purchase ‘a la carte’ per ride, with or without Genie+. These Individual Lightning Lanes can be purchased for up to two different attractions each day, so plan accordingly because you can’t do all three Individual Lightning Lane attractions in a single day.
3. The simplest way to find available Lightning Lane windows is in the Disneyland mobile app under the Tip Board. As you scroll down, for the attractions that have Lightning Lanes, you'll see "LL Disney Genie+" with a link to "Book Experience."
4. In a larger party, you may be splitting up and going to different attractions. When making Lightning Lane selections, you can select certain members of your party. Also, you can cancel a Lightning Lane, if you decide you want to book something else instead!
5. You can make your next selection immediately after your current selection has been redeemed. And, if it’s been more than 120 minutes from the time you made the selection, even if your current selection’s arrival window hasn’t started, you can make a new selection! Example: at 8:00 a.m. you make a Lightning Lane selection for Incredicoaster, for which the arrival window starts at 11:00 a.m.. At 10:00 a.m., you can make another Lightning Lane selection, even though you haven’t redeemed your Incredicoaster Lightning Lane yet.
6. Genie+ gives you complimentary access to
Disney PhotoPass for the day. This is a really fun perk, especially to capture fun group photos. When you link attraction photos as well as those taken by Disney PhotoPass Photographers, you’ll have access to unlimited digital downloads for the day. Ask the photographer about taking a Magic Shot - this includes special effects or character surprises.
