do we know what month in 2019 star wars land will open?

Hello Melanie!  Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

Having just returned from the Star Wars Half Marathon - The Dark Side at Walt Disney World Resort, I can honestly say that Walt Disney World Resort really knows how to do Star Wars right!  With the Star Wars-themed Land on the horizon in 2019, I am anxious to see how it will all turn out.

With the new Pandora: The World of Avatar at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park scheduled to open on May 27, 2017, a definitive opening date was not official until this past February.  For many years, the opening date was listed as being 2017 with no month slated for the official opening.

With the size and scope of creating these new worlds, Walt Disney World Resort likes to build anticipation while also remaining open and realistic to any setbacks or delays that might occur.  With just under 2 years until 2019, Guests will have to wait until more of the Star Wars-themed land is completed and more headway is made before a scheduled month and date will be revealed for the opening.

Unfortunately, that means that we Star Wars fans will have to remain patience and stay up to date on all of the progress through the Disney Parks Blog or Walt Disney World Resort website for dates to be released.

While I am purely speculating, it would be great if the opening of Star Wars Land at Disney's Hollywood Studios Theme Park was tied to the theatrical release of the third Star Wars film expected to be released on May 23, 2019.

May the Force Be With You!
