Welcome to planDisney, Judith! You've brought a great question to us and I'm happy to help!
As an active-duty family, we love taking advantage of the generous
Military Promotional Ticket Offers that Disneyland extends to us. You are correct that when a Military Promotional Ticket is gifted or purchased for someone other than the military member or spouse, the military member or spouse must present their ID when the tickets are used for the first time. According to the offer details, the military member or spouse will also need to be using one of these Military Promotional Tickets for themselves as well. They will not be able to use just a one-day theme park admission ticket. However, if the military member or spouse who will be attending is a
Magic Key holder, they can use their Magic Key instead of also purchasing a ticket for themselves.
If this doesn't work out for your plans, be sure to check out the other ticket offers available at your local military base ticket office. You can still get a discount on regular theme park admission tickets that do not have the same requirements of use as the Military Promotional Tickets.
Whichever tickets you decide on, remember that all tickets must also have theme park ticket reservations for entry. Once you purchase your tickets, link them to your Disney account through the
Disneyland app and make your
theme park reservations as soon as possible.
Judith, thanks so much for stopping by! We are here for all your planning questions!
