Hi there, Rachel! Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for your excellent question.
With an initial Disneyland
Magic Key Pass purchase, the expiration is based upon the date of first use of the pass for theme park admission. (Or first use of the parking benefit, for
Insprire Key holders.) However, when you
renew a Magic Key, the expiration date will be one year from your initial expiration date. Per the
Magic Key Terms & Conditions, "The renewed Pass will automatically be activated on the day after the expiration date of the original Pass." Rachel, if you plan to renew a Magic Key, you'll want to remember that you must do so before the pass expires; the renewal window currently begins 30 days before the current expiration date.
As a Magic Key holder, there is a year full of theme park fun but have you discovered the awesome
Magic Key dining and merchandise discounts,
Magic Key Terrace, and the Magic Key-exclusive merchandise? There is an adorable popcorn bucket of the dog Dug from
Up! available for purchase exclusively for Magic Key holders during
Pixar Fest! Be sure to follow
Disneyland Magic Key on Instagram and the
Disney Parks Blog for the most up-to-date information on events in the parks!
I hope this helps, Rachel! I hope to see you back here again soon!
See you in the parks,
Melissa
