How do I know if my magic band is charged and active

    Hey there, Teresa!

Welcome to planDisney, and excellent question! I am Shantel, and I will be more than happy to help you prepare for a day of fun, starting with your MagicBand!

MagicBand+ is such a great addition to every visit. Not only is it a fun accessory, but it is also your own magical key to everything! Your MagicBand holds your theme park ticket, Lightning Lane Reservations, PhotoPass Photos, and it can be used as a payment option if you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel. Plus, they light up and interact with different things around the theme parks. They are cute, fun, and useful. Honestly, the ideal accessory!

The easiest way to check to see if your MagicBand is charged and active is through the My Disney Experience Mobile app. What you will want to do is open the app and click the hamburger menu, the three horizontal stacked lines, located in the bottom right-hand corner. Scroll down until you see the heading “Account”. Underneath that heading, you will see “MagicBands & Cards”. Click on that to open up your MagicBand page. Click on your name, or the name of the Guest you are managing, to open up the MagicBand page. There, you should see a photo duplicate of the  MagicBand that is connected to you. Directly below the MagicBand image is where you will see the specifics of the MagicBand. Things like battery strength, if it is connected, updates needed, Bluetooth connection, light-up theme, and if it is activated. If you do not see your MagicBand there, then you’ll stay on that page to activate it.

Follow the prompts to activate and connect your MagicBand. Once it is connected, you will see all the settings I’ve previously mentioned. While using your MagicBand during your visit, I recommend charging it nightly. After using it for a day in the parks, I feel better giving it a full charge before taking it back out for another day of fun.

Teresa, I hope this helps answer your question. If you get stuck or need any more assistance, please let us know! If not, enjoy your visit and don’t forget to pack your charger!

    Magical Memories,

    Shantel

Hi ya Pals! I'm Shantel, an Army wife and mom of two. I grew up going to the parks, and now we're sharing that tradition with our kids. When I am not visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, I'm at home researching and planning for our next trip. One of my favorite things to do is search for new snacks to try, especially if they are Mickey shaped. I'm definitely living the dream my heart wished for!
