I know lots of hotels offer early check in for a fee. Is it possible to pay for guaranteed early check in at Disneyland Hotel? Wanting my son to be able to nap in the room on our first day there, and willing to pay for it!

    Hello there, Melissa!

Welcome to planDisney! Taking little ones for a visit to the Disneyland Resort is so much fun...but I also know it's a lot of work. Naps were a super big deal for my kiddos, so I know how you feel!

I spoke to Guest Services at the Disneyland Hotel and they said that when you check in you are welcome to ask if any rooms are currently available, but they do not have the option to pay for guaranteed early checking. I'm sorry! I would love to recommend some of my favorite peaceful spots around the Disneyland Resort so your little prince can hopefully get a great nap, even if your room isn't ready when you arrive.

The Disneyland Resort Hotels do have lovely rooms, but they also have beautiful lobbies! The Fantasy Tower is the main lobby of the Disneyland Hotel and is often a little busier, but you are welcome to walk over to the Adventure Tower or (my personal favorite) the Frontier Tower. Each building has a lobby with a comfortable seating area and soft music. They are a perfect place for a little one to nap in a stroller or snuggled up with mom.

I always found it easier to bring my own stroller to the parks. I picked one that could recline quite a bit and had a really good sunshade. I kept a few clothespins in my diaper bag to attach a blanket to the sunshade for extra coverage. A stroller fan is always a great help, too!

When you're in the parks, some of our favorite places to hang out while our kids caught a nap were:

The Baby Care Centers in both parks are a great spot for a peaceful break, too. And they have the essentials available for purchase if you need something in a hurry! Of course, one of the major perks of staying at the Disneyland Hotel is that the Disneyland Monorail can help you get back to the hotel for naps, too!

Visiting Disneyland Park with little ones is such a special experience, Melissa! I hope you'll take the chance to visit Mickey's Toontown, it's been reimagined recently and I know that Mickey and his pals would love to meet your little Mouseketeer! Please send me a note if you have any other questions about visiting with little ones, such as how to use rider swap. I'm so excited for you and your little guy!

    Keep moving forward!
