Hello there, Linda, and welcome to planDisney! Thank you for stopping by with your question!
The magic. The snacks. The smell of Main Street, U.S.A., the screams coming from the Hollywood Tower of Terror...there's just something about a
Walt Disney World Resort vacation, isn't there? A last-minute Walt Disney World Resort vacation is sometimes just what we all need - and I'm happy to report that it's NEVER too late to plan a getaway - as long as you're willing to be as flexible!
Depending on what your "must dos" are when you visit, Linda, your options could be wide open or more limited, but in most cases, a month is plenty of time to plan for an amazing vacation!
When it comes to staying in the middle of the magic, I'd start with a quick search for available Walt Disney World Resort Collection hotels! Depending on the size of your party - or even if you're making a solo escape - if you're looking for the convenience of staying on-property at the best value, it looks like
Disney's All Star Music Resort would make a great home base! With reimagined rooms and Bus Transportation to the parks, it's perfect for your last-minute getaway. Other options looks like they're available, but let's just say I'd be sticking with a Value Resort this time around!
With accommodations settled, next up are tickets - and it looks like you're in luck again! If you're looking to spend time in the Theme Parks, the first thing to check is if
Park Pass Reservations are available - which as of this writing a month out - you're in the clear, or perhaps I should say green! I'd feel comfortable purchasing tickets with the current Park Pass availability but would act quickly to be sure.
Now, for a barebones trip, all that's left is to get to Walt Disney World Resort! But if you're looking for dining reservations at specific restaurants, this may be a bit tricky as you're already within the 60-day Advance Dining Reservations timeframe. But don't despair - last minute trips are the perfect opportunity to take advantage of
Mobile Dine Walk-up Availability! This new service allows you to add your party to the walk-up wait list at participating restaurants simply by scanning the QR code with your mobile device and entering your party's information in the My Disney Experience App! While you may not be seated right away, this allows you to sneak in one more snack to hold you over until you get the notification that your table is ready!
So that's accommodations, tickets, Park Pass Reservations, AND dining taken care of [checks watch] with plenty of time to spare! I don't know about you, but I'm ready to go NOW. As Kuzco says, "when are you going to learn that all my ideas are good ones?"
Joking aside, here's to this "planDrew-approved" approach helps get you your bearings for your trip, Linda! Thank you so much for your question, and if you run into any other "demon llamas" that need transforming as you finalize your plans, feel free to stop by my "secret lab" again here at planDisney!
Pull the lever, Kronk!
